• Blowing a balloon – When you’re blowing a balloon, you need to take long breaths slowly and this helps to relieve the stress. The parasympathetic nervous system gets activated and the heart rate is also slowed down.
• Painting and Coloring – Painting and coloring are usually considered to be kids’ activities, but that’s not exactly true. Just grab a brush and let out all your pent up emotions. You will feel really relaxed. Your focus shifts from your worries to another activity – coloring. You can buy special coloring books that are specially designed for adults.
• Make up a language – Make up a language that has no meaning, simply gibberish. Now try to talk to a friend in your nonsensical language. Although he’ll find you weird and silly but this will help you to relieve stress and have a good laugh.
• Laugh loudly – Laugh your heart out. You can laugh at anything, even if it’s just a small joke. Sometimes we are so busy that we don’t laugh at the jokes of life. Laugh as much as you can. It reduces the amount of stress hormones in your body and helps to relieve stress.
