With passion in heart and skill in hand, designer and stylist Ramona Narang exhibited her new festive collection in Mumbai recently. Combining attributes of aesthetic beauty, aspects of rich Indian culture were magnified in her creation. Stunningly embroidered pieces made graceful with mirror work displayed as nothing less than a piece of art. The collection does not just cater to your festive needs, but it slays the season of weddings in full swing too. The collection comprised of sarees and lehengas – bearing in mind the festive and wedding season.
A line of Lehengas is created to be all classy with mirrors, embroidery, soothing colour along with tasselled dupatta made of net. Another one is all sassy and chic with beaded embroidery on net, enhancing the beauty further.
Playing with shimmer and fringes, this collection offers some of the most beguiling outfits. It is a stylish melange of graceful silhouettes, luxurious silk, flowy tassels as well as sheer. Keeping in mind India’s rich culture and heritage, her designs are beautifully textured and intricately designed.
Heading the brand ‘I Bella’ (which mean- I am beautiful), Ramona has helped countless women feel confident about dressing up. Her sense of fashion is as chic as it is graceful. It abides by the definition of classy and stylish in today’s world of fashion. Keeping it elegant and comfortable has been her style. Be it resort wear, baby couture line or Indian festive – her style caters to varied audiences and patrons.
Talking about her inspiration, Ramona says, “My inspiration stems from my travels to exotic lands and surprisingly the birth of her twins – stemming from not having any fashionable maternity wear! Given the situation, I started designing and making clothes for myself and watched as inquiries about them flooded in from friends and peers. It was not long before suggestions about starting my line rang in, and I then went on to do just that. From a private niche on order label, it has now grown into a store where I am blessed to cater to a burgeoning clientele.”
Her clientele is based not only India, but in Dubai and Europe as well. Her flagship store is part of The Ambassador Hotel, located at Churchgate, Mumbai. Talking about expansion plans, she mentions that her line will “…foray into men’s fashion shortly, as well as styling professionally which I do even now for some of my clients.”
Taking her mother to be a role model for self, she wishes to do as much as she can for her children – her twins of 8 – Isabella and Ishaan. Ramona recently walked the ramp with her twins Isabella and Ishaan, and niece Rihanna, at the Annual CSA Fundraiser – held this September by CSA, an organisation dedicated to the cause of upliftment and betterment of less privileged children living in orphanages across the country.
