Sizzling grills at The Ancient Barbeque

TABGood food teamed up with excellent ambience and warm hospitality knows no weather or time. A recent visit to The Ancient Barbeque restaurant, opened recently in Sector-63 Noida, gave a similar experience. With lot of apprehensions, considering the location, we were a bit sceptical about the place but at times, keeping your expectations can be the best thing to do. The restaurant is started by three chefs, Ashish Messy, Dharmendra Singh and Vipin Kumar.

As we entered the restaurant, the interiors caught our attention. With abstract art paintings and souvenirs handpicked from the by-lanes of Old Delhi beautifying the walls; the wooden furniture gave the restaurant an appealing look. Ashish Massey, the co-owner, told us the interiors have been done keeping in mind the era of Nizams of Hyderabad and Lucknow and hence, making it look like a royal castle. The restaurant does not follow a fixed menu and keeps on changing it after every four days to kill any sort of monotony. Though some dishes are fixed and you can enjoy them anytime.

Coming to the food, TAB follows buffet style of dining so you will have to help yourself with the main course but starters are served on the table. Following what the name says, there is a live charcoal BBQ on the table where almost done meats, vegetables and fruits are served on skewers along with six marinates which can be picked according to the taste preferences. Crispy corn, Jafrani Soya Sashlik, Basil Cheese Grill Veg, Bhatti ka Paneer, Salsa Potato, Nadru ki Shammi and Crispy Corn are some of the many options at TAB. Jafrani Soya Sashlik topped up with minced onion was the catch of the day. But what amazed us the most was the Mexican pineapple on skewers, one can hardly imagine this juicy fruit being grilled but it is a must-try at TAB. We enjoyed our starters amidst the sizzling grill sounds, fire flames and the aroma of burning charcoal. The chefs’ creativity doesn’t stop at starters; even the drinks have a dash of culinary magic in them. We were served Grilled lemonade and Grilled Mary; both the drinks tasted different from regular. The grilled lemonade can be enjoyed till the last sip as at no point it becomes too sour for the taste buds and the grilled mary has a touch of green chilli to give you a thrill in the throat.

Heading towards the main course, the names of the dishes are not conventional. Kale Moti ke chawal, Paneer rara multani, Akkha Malai palak, Khadi Dal Palak are served on the vegetarian side and for the non-vegetarian lovers, the restaurant has Gosht Roganjosh, Methi Murg and Murg Dum Biryani to serve with an assortment of Indian breads. Last but not the least, a treat for the sweet tooth and we must say, it is quite a big one. The wide array of desserts consists of Marble Nut Brownie, Coconut Fudge, Crunchy Nut Pie, Gajar Ka Halwa, Gulab Jamun, Fresh Cut Fruits, Gulabi Kheer, Black Forest Cake And Ice-Cream. Make sure you keep some space for these mouth-watering delicacies.

And the last peg, the Pan Shot is the cherry on the cake of relishing food served at TAB.

So, if you want to relish food with a soothing ambience and warm hospitality, then head towards The Ancient Barbeque and you won’t be disappointed for sure. Don’t forget to get yourself clicked in front of the photo wall at TAB.
