Brijbhumi, the land of Lord Krishna, is flocked with devotees all throughout the year. While some from the nearby cities opt for a day trip, many like to spend few nights in this divine land where the Hindu mythological deity Lord Krishna was born and spent the early years of his life. And if you are from the later category, then Shri Radha Brij Vasundhara Resort & Spa can be your pick. Located only 30km from Mathura Railway Station, the property is located in the foothills of the Govardhan Parvat which is regularly visited by devotees for parikrama (circumambulation of sacred places). We recently visited the property on a three-night visit and brought you a photo journey of Shri Radha Brij Vasundhara Resort & Spa.
Spread over an area of 25 acres; the property has 250 cottages that bespoke luxury and comfort. While 50 cottages are reserved for renting out to visitors, the remaining are to be sold to individuals which make it simpler to own a property in the region.
Every cottage has a private sitting area overlooking a common garden with tastefully manicured green areas to soothe your senses. The entire resort is designed to resemble a tree, and each branch is named after the Indian rivers. I stayed in the Tungabhadra ring.
The Govardhan Parvat as seen from the resort. The hill was about 3km (2 miles) high 5,000 years ago, but because of the curse of Pulastya Muni, it is sinking the height of a sesame seed daily. Presently at its highest point, the hill is just 25m (80 ft) high.
The resort also houses a two-room spa and is headed by Ms Sunita. The place is done tastefully, and special attention is given to hygiene. I tried the Balinese massage which is quite close to Deep Tissue massage. I felt super relaxed after the session as the masseuse kept removing the muscle knots with a concoction of essential lemon and ginger oil.
You can get even luckier as I did if you are a morning person. I spotted a rabbit, a peahen with her kids and a sleeping nest outside one of the privately-owned cottages.
