Dehradun is all set to witness the first ever gala literature event on the coming weekend. World Integrity Center, India (WIC India) – the most sought after cultural hub in Dehradun, is gearing up to host the first ever Literature Festival in the city on 22nd and 23rd April, 2016. The festival’s organizing partners include the prestigious ‘Harvard Club of India’ and leading PR and brand consultancy firm, ‘Springhead Communications’.
25 renowned fiction and non-fiction authors along with 6 of the top publishing houses and 10 engaging moderators be the life of the avid book readers at the literature extravaganza. It is expected to host more than 5000 unique visitors over two days.
India’s best-selling authors including Sinclair prize winner – Nayantara Sehgal, Durjoy Dutta, Ashwin Sanghi, Novoneel Chakraborty, Dev Lahiri, Humra Quraishi, Roshen Dalal, Ranjit Lal, Mona Verma, Swapna Liddle, Omair Ahmad, Rachna Bisht Rawat, Sumedha Mahajan, Kota Neelima, Sumrit Shahi along with other renowned authors will make Dehradun a literature haven, come 22nd April.
It is an occasion that will prove to be a trend-setter for the picturesque city of Dehradun as an international hub for book enthusiasts and authors. Dehradun and Mussoorie is home to some of the most prominent authors, most legendarily ‘Sahitya Academy Awardee’, ‘Padma Bhushan’ author ‘Ruskin Bond’, and WIC India is a perfect setting to be the host venue for this festival.
The visitors at the festival will get to witness the best of literati world, book fair hosted by top fiction & non-fiction book publishers, scrumptious in-house gourmet world cuisines, interacting with best-selling authors, and a rocking live music performance by India’s only and well known Swatantra rock band ‘EKA’ on 22nd April evening starting 6.00 pm, all of this set at a venue overlooking the hill town of Mussoorie. The festival has been conceptualized by Mukta Khandelwal, Vice President, Office of Programs and Events – WIC India.
