Chamomile Tea
Chamomile Tea

Diwali, probably one of the most popular festivals in India is a time when everything happens in excess – the show, the grandeur, the bling, the gifting and of course, the overdose of sweets.

At a time when #DoItDifferently is the mantra everyone swears by, The Humming Notes stumbled upon such a season’s gifting idea that is bound to warm everyone’s hearts. William Ewart Gladstone had once said: “If you are cold, tea will warm you; if you are heated, it will cool you; If you are depressed, it will cheer you; If you are excited, it will calm you.” Tea is a brew that everyone likes in different forms, and we have unearthed a treasure trove of everything that is tea, much to our absolute delight as tea-worshippers.

An online store – – stocks at least a dozen varieties of tea, several varieties of coffee, in addition to various spices, pots, pans and other paraphernalia (infusers, kettles, steepers and what have you) that any tea aficionado will find irresistible to brew that cuppa. Tsakafi is an Indian company founded with the objective of giving the customer a superior tea and coffee experience, along with knowledge and equipment for brewing their tea and coffee.

At the fountainhead of their supply chain are their tie-ups with the tea gardens in Assam, Darjeeling and the Nilgiris for various types of tea. For coffee, they have tied up with suppliers in Coorg and Chikmagalur to source some of the best quality Arabica and Robusta.

12548893_201242473578165_886357732938610193_nWe tried their masala tea and green tea and had been won over forever. Though chamomile tea isn’t an easy tea to stock and sell (because improper storage and processing can make the aroma go bad), we are eyeing that next. The other varieties on offer are Orange Pekoe, Jasmine Leaf, Nilgiri, Earl Grey, Black tea, Oolong tea, Mint tea and so on. The best bit – the quality of the brews is excellent, and because they are packed in airtight pillow-pouches, the first sign of the superiority is when the aroma escapes as soon as one opens the pack. The packaging is a part of the experience.

Any self-respecting tea lover would also be keen to stock steepers, brewers, sieves and other gadgetry and equipment that would be indispensable to a brewmaster. After all, having the perfect tea accessory and the perfect tea leaves can make all the difference.

So what you gift, when you gift Tsakafi’s special festive hampers (or pick and choose to create your own) is not a product but an experience that a discerning tea lover would love you for!
