It was a fun afternoon at the Go Cheese tasting event powered by Femina. The event took place recently at one of the most happening places of Delhi, Hard Rock café, Saket.
A brand that has transformed the way India responds to cheese. It all started with Parag Milk Foods Ltd which started manufacturing dairy products with cow’s milk under the brand name ‘Gowardhan’. In 2009, the company started another unit to manufacture cheese and names it ‘Go Cheese’ and within five years the name became synonymous with cheese across the country.
The afternoon was kicked off by stand-up comic artist Vikramjit Singh. He cracked jokes with a hint of sarcasm in them, right from the funny ways of Sardars to flamboyancy of Dilliwalas or how Gurgaon residents call them Delhiites. His jokes left the audience in splits.
Further VPS Malik, Vice President modern trade and institution business at Parag Milk Foods Ltd, took over the stage and took the guests on the interesting journey of the brand. Go Cheese comes in many flavours and forms from wedges to slices, blocks, spreads to shredded, including finely processed cheddar and mozzarella, and finest gourmet cheese like gouda, colby, orange cheddar, mild cheddar, etc.
But it was Chef Ranveer Brar who stole the show though it was a bit disheartening he didn’t cook anything at the event. The cute and good-looking chef, food stylist and TV host was greeted with huge applaud by all the food and cheese lovers. Ranveer spoke about the different varities of cheese across the world and the history behind them. For the uninitiated, he informed that Gouda and Stilton cheese are not made in the towns that they are named after.
The chef also curated the menu for the afternoon where everything was prepared with Go Cheese. The menu included a cheese platter – Go Colby, Go Orange Cheddar, Go Gouda and Go Mild Cheddar to go with wine. And for the snacks – Bombay Toastie Bruchetta with Slice Cheese, Quesadilla with devils Garnish and Montre Jack, Mini Winter Vegetable Pizza with Herbed Cheese Cream, Chilli Cheese Suppli with Tomato and Saffron Chutney, Crumber CheeseTriangles with Tropical Fruit Compote, and for sweet tooth Creamy Cheese Fruit Tarts and Ginger Bread Cream Cheese Cookies were served.
